WEAR WITH CARE

Please treat your wearable art delicately. Although each piece has been made with stability in mind, please remember that the nature of each petal is delicate and thin. Use caution with particularly thin petals and stamen as they may be bent out or break if handled carelessly.Pieces should not be easily broken, but they should still never be intentionally bent, pulled, or dropped.

WATER
Do not wear pieces while swimming or showering. Chlorine and shower goods may damage the resin/glaze and metals, particularly gold plated and silver items.

  • COSMETICS, LOTIONS, & OTHER CHEMICALS
Jewelry should only be worn after washing, applying makeup, hair spray, gels, lotions, or perfumes. Avoid using chemicals, solvents, jewelry cleaners, or aerosol products near the earrings as the chemicals may cause clouding on the resin/glaze, or cause the plating to wear off.
  • STORAGE
Store pieces out of direct sunlight and away from extreme temperatures. Keep in a clean and dry place. Tarnish can be slowed by storing jewelry in storage box with anti-tarnish strips and/or oxygen absorbing packets or silica packets. Prolonged sun exposure will cause colors to fade, including some metals.
  • CLEANING
For Hardware (metal parts/Pin): Dip a cotton swab in isopropyl/rubbing alcohol and gently wipe the piece.Silver hardware may be gently polished to remove tarnish. For Glazed Clay: DO NOT use soap/water on resin/glazed parts.Wipe with soft cloth. For Non-glazed/Non-resin clay: a q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol or make-up remover will help clean away any makeup or other dirt from clay components.
  • TARNISH OVER TIME
Most metals will naturally tarnish over time - particularly gold plated jewelry and sterling silver. Please keep in mind that some plating may fade after a year of regular wear and proper care, but results vary depending on the individual items and the manufacturing processes. To extend the life of your jewelry and avoid tarnish for as long as possible, wipe down the hardware with an isopropyl dipped cotton swab/ball/cloth and dry after each ware. Storing pieces in a plastic bag with anti-tarnish strips or silica packets will help slow tarnish and prolong the life of your jewelry.
  • Pieces with Bead works are delicate in nature. Please handle your piece gently and with care. Avoid dropping or putting under heavy weight as the beads may break.

Clayhives cannot be held responsible for damages caused by failure to follow these care instruction.

Necklace Size Chart and Guide

Collar and Choker length necklaces 30.5-40cm or 14-16”

As the name suggests collar styles fit higher around the neck and chokers rest closely around the base of your neck. The right-sized choker necklace should fit comfortably, leaving a finger-room between the chain and your neck. Both collar and choker chains give off a retro-classic 90s vibe and look alluring on long slender necks and pixie-cut hairstyles.

Short or Princess Necklace: 40-47cm or 18-20”

A short necklace is designed to fall perfectly just below the base of the neck, resting around the collarbone. On petite women, this necklace will hang comfortably in position, however, on plus-size women, it might look more like a choker. So this size chain is best worn by petite or slim women.

Medium or Matinee Necklace: 47-60cm or ~20-24

”The Matinee necklace sits beautifully on your chest pointing gracefully towards your cleavage. A medium-length necklace is ideal if you are of moderate height and have a fuller body type.

Long or Opera necklace: 60-75cm or 28-34”

Best worn by tall willowy women, this necklace can bear a medallion pendant and other statement pieces. Depending on the length and your build you may also be able to wear an opera length like a layered choker and princess chain.

Very long or Rope necklace: 85-100cm or 36-42”

Wear your rope necklaces to create an illusion of layering in double or triple tires. Or knot it by folding it in half around your neck to form a stylish lariat knot.name in the industry.
